The revised federal regulations that went into effect in July 1, 2020, have caused regional accreditors to make extensive modifications to their Substantive Change Policy and procedures. At most institutions, the preparation of substantive change and reaffirmation documents is a cumbersome manual process that lacks the necessary infrastructure and technology to maintain substantive change and accreditation documents and processes over time. Experienced Institutional Accreditation Liaisons recommend that institutions have a fairly simple, but comprehensive, system to track and identify substantive changes over time to ensure continuity and compliance.

About our Speakers and Moderator
Ann Boudinot is Assistant Vice President for Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and SACSCOC Institutional Liaison at Marymount University. Ann provides leadership in the university’s efforts to develop and support integrated planning and a campus-wide culture of assessment, evidence-based decision-making, and mission-driven continuous improvement. She has more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration in the US and in the Middle East in areas ranging from fundraising to strategic planning, assessment of student learning, assessment of administrative outcomes, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation (SACSCOC/MSCHE). She has served on many university committees throughout her career, including both academic and institutional planning and governance committees. She holds an MBA from the American University in Cairo, a BSBA in marketing and in international business administration from the Ohio State University, and is a faculty facilitator of SCUP’s Planning Institute. She has presented many workshops on topics related to assessment, culture change, planning in crisis, and other topics related to planning, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation.
David Mosley joined SPOL in May 2021 as the Institutional Effectiveness SME with thirty-two years of higher education experience. His experience encompasses 10 years at Lamar University as the Director of Institutional Research & Reporting and 22 years at Lamar Institute of Technology as the SACSCOC Accreditation Liaison, with the last 5 years serving as the Vice President for Strategic Initiatives.
Donna Valente serves as the Vice President of Sales for Strategic Planning Online, (SPOL). Donna brings two decades of leadership experience especially in the educational technology and e-learning markets. She works with university leaders to help identify institutional goals and implement technology strategies.
Donna has a business degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) certificate from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI); the industry leader in accredited leadership coach training.
